recently watched Neil Gaiman’s “Make Good Art” commencement speech at Philadelphia’s University of Arts. It’s one of the most inspiring commencement speeches out there and worth the watch.
A line that struck me: “Make interesting mistakes.”
I think people drastically underestimate how important mistakes are. Mistakes are a part of life, and they are especially helpful when building something great.
Greatness doesn’t come from people who sit on the sidelines. Greatness comes from people who aren’t afraid to take risks. It shows up in people who rage against complacency. It comes from people who make interesting mistakes.
