Get to know Dan from a recent interview:
Starting in retail and health care marketing, Dan was on the team that launched Gerber Graduates and Simple Recipe baby foods, among other Gerber brands that helped secure its dominance in retail shelf space for the baby food category. After graduating from Michigan State with an advertising degree and beginning his career at P&G Marketing, he eventually moved to Campbell-Ewald, where he worked in the creative department.
Dan and Krista Cobb founded DBA in 1992 on a mission, believing success is a science that follows a worthy contribution to society rather than social manipulation. They built the agency on non-traditional and purpose-driven marketing for food, health and wellness products as well as sporting goods.
In the late ‘90s, DBA syndicated a prime time TV documentary series for hospitals across the country. Dan funded the series by building co-ops between hospitals and partners including GlaxoSmithKline, Pfizer and Merck. DBA’s innovative and non-traditional strategies like this have been effective for Disney, Warner Bros., WholeFoods, HoMedics, Henry Ford Health System, Uhealth, Penn Health Care, Cincinnati Children’s Hospital, Mercy, Blue Cross/Blue Shield, Health Alliance Plan, Allegra, Domino’s Pizza, Chick-fil-A, Hungry Howie’s, Flagstar Bank, Citizens Bank, Saturn, Bosch, Visteon and Cars.com.
